Giving Back with B1G1

In October 2011, Liz Warner was selected by Virgin Atlantic Flying Club to take part in a Virgin Atlantic fund raising trip to Kenya. Along with 13 others, she raised money from friends, family and clients to fund the building of a new classroom. She fully understood the reasons for going but not until she got there did she realise the massive impact that not having basic facilities has. Most of us take for granted clean water, clothing, food and the long term benefits of education. And yes, she did actually help build walls when she was there!

B1G1, a global social enterprise and non-profit charity organisation, has touched the lives of more than 70 million people across the globe by helping to fund life-saving and life-enriching projects. And we’re extremely proud to play just a small part in that big achievement.

We are extremely proud to announce that through a partnership with B1G1, UWM has successfully touched the lives of more than 120,000 people worldwide. With the help of B1G1, our business transactions and everyday purchases generate income for much needed support systems. Every time we buy, we’re giving back.

The team at UWM is honoured to have the opportunity to help enrich the lives of impoverished and underprivileged communities. B1G1 supports over 600 carefully selected organisations, which means there’s always a way of supporting a cause we are passionate about.

Why not take a look for yourself and find out how your business can join us in supporting high-impact life-changing projects? B1G1 is all about community, so we’d love for you to get involved too. If you would like to incorporate charitable actions into your own business, please get in touch with us today. There’s still more work to be done. And your help can make a big difference.
